Jef-Aram Van Gorp
This page showcases some of the personal projects I have done over the year.

Although I have made a career of logical, left-brain thinking, I find that my over-active imagination tends to take over when I do projects just for fun. I have a strong passion for story telling, especially where it relates to film, although recently I have pivoted more towards the written word to communicate what's in my head.

I welcome all feedback, so feel free to reach out.

Insomnium

Year: May, 2023

A short story based on a strange and weirdly adventurous dream I had. I tried to capture the same sense of flight and mystery that I experienced during the dream, which I feverishly wrote down in the morning before it faded from memory. Although the story was cleaned up a bit to make the whole more coherent, the ending is genuine and actually happened in real life.

Morning Routine

Year: 2012

I made this video to practice color correction (which horribly failed) and lighting for a film class I attended at the time. I used my Canon 600D DSLR and played around with depth of field as well, trying to create an atmosphere that was inspired by the soundtrack that is used in the video.
